A busy day

Have you ever had one of those days where you thought you had your day planned out but then it didn't go that way at all? That was today. I've been back in the office for just two days now after being gone for nearly a week for the funeral. I've got lots of things to get caught up on and thank you notes and receipts to mail out from our golf outing. My plan today was to send out all my golf outing thank you notes and receipts. That was until I watched the news this morning. 

Our local television station reported a man who had his wheelchair taken away from him. Turns out the report wasn't quite 100% accurate. Regardless, we felt we could help this gentleman out by providing a manual wheelchair to him free of charge. So we went to the TV station and did a quick interview with the reporter who initially broke the story. Once things were cleared up we went back to the office found a nearly new manual wheelchair that fit the guy and then we drove to Hartford, MI to deliver the chair. All in all it still turned out to be a good day. We placed a manual wheelchair with someone who desperately needed it and we got a little free press out of the deal too. A win-win in my book. 

Good news from my sister today: 

Today was her first doctors appointment. She found out she is not as far along with her pregnancy as she originally expected but so far things look good. She thought she would be seven weeks along tomorrow but turns out she will only be six weeks. Everything looked normal for this time period but it's still too early for a heartbeat. I know she wants the reassurance of that babies heartbeat now more than ever. She's got another appointment scheduled for next week with her new doctor in Midland. Hopefully at that time the little "thing" will have a heart beat and will be healthy and normal.
